Surgical breast implants are still the gold standard for breast enhancements. The nonsurgical breast enhancements are only suited for patients with realistic expectation, who do not which to have surgery.
All patients require a breast ultrasound, and over the age of 30, all patients require a mammogram, and then an assessment by a breast surgeon prior to the procedure.

What is Hyaluronic Acid and is it safe?

Hyaluronic acid is a naturally occurring substance in our body. It is the most abundant glycoprotein in our skin structure providing hydration and suppleness to your skin. Because Restylane consists of hyaluronic acid, a substance that occurs naturally in the body and this therefore means that side-effects are rare. The degradation process in the body is natural and the risk of reactions is small. Comprehensive clinical studies confirm the product's properties and show that is proven to be safe.

What does the treatment involve?

The area that needs volume restoration and rejuvenation is first numbed with anaesthetic, so that the area is completely numb. Usually the whole procedure takes less than 30minutes. Small quantities of the product are injected under the breast using an atraumatic blunt cannula - this is a needle that is not sharp so it does not cut your tissue, hence avoiding damaging your breast tissue by gently pushing it aside when you advance the cannula.

How long will it last?

It has been shown that there is 50% volume remaining after one year.. After the initial breast enhancement, you are able to inject 50% of the initial volume six months later, and then every nine months after that. This allows for a natural looking result, with minimal discomfort. In fact, most patients will be able to return to work after immediately after the procedure.

What can I expect after having had a treatment?

The breast are initially a little swollen due to the local anaesthetic in your breast tissue. When the anaesthetic wears off, the most analgesic that you will require will be paracetamol. You will need to wear a special sports bra for two weeks (this is provided for you). You must avoid vigorous exercise for atleast two weeks.

How much will this cost?

This depends on the desired volume that is appropriate for your frame and breast, and your budget. However you can expect to pay between $4000 to $8000. An accurate quote will be given at the time of your consultation.
