Joanna Romanowska (MBChB, FRNZCGP, FNZCAM)

Dr Joanna Romanowska graduated in 1990 with a medical degree from the University of Pretoria in South Africa. Following this she completed an internship at Edendale, a large teaching hospital in Pietermaritzburg, before working as a GP in a hospital in Northern Ireland and then as the sole practitioner in a remote rural town in Canada.
Joanna settled in New Zealand in 1993, establishing herself as a partner at South Auckland’s Mangare Family Doctors. Joanna has continued to work at the general practice where she has now taken up the role of Director.
Joanna began practising appearance medicine in 1998 and made the leap to open her own business in 2001. Joanna says working at both Clinic 42 and a South Auckland practice gives her a unique working balance. “Appearance medicine in Epsom and general practice in Mangere are obviously poles apart, but I value the perspective that this allows. Working in two such different but equally challenging environments ensures that my professional focus is constantly refined”.
Joanna is a Fellow of the New Zealand College of Apperance Medicine and has practised Appearance Medicine since 1998, improving aging skin appearance by treating facial contours, fine lines and wrinkles, utilising Botox and various Dermal Fillers. Joanna is also affiliated with Southern Cross for the treatment of Varicose Veins which is treated with sclerotherapy under ultrasound guidance. Dr Joanna is also the first and only female doctor in New Zealand to be trained in injectable fillers for Breast Augmentation.
